Saint Ann Court – Dallas, TX

Client: Gensler Architects

Standing 26 stories tall, Saint Ann Court instantly became the tallest building in Uptown Dallas upon completion in fall 2009. This bold high-rise office tower features two 2,500-square-foot roof terraces that function as outdoor gathering rooms and can accommodate small meetings as well as office-wide events. The terraces offer comfortable, safe and usable outdoor space of a refined aesthetic. Overhead trellises, raised pedestal paver walkways, plantings with minimal water needs, and raised Ipe decking with granite accent bands and granite pot pedestals define the spaces. One of the 23rd floor terraces offers panoramic views of downtown Dallas and Victory Park while the other looks out onto Uptown and Park Cities.

Along with premier views to downtown Dallas, the terraces include a harmonious variety of plants, high-end materials and art.

  • Two 2,500-SF roof terraces on Saint Ann Court’s 23rd floor
  • Comfortable, safe and usable outdoor space of a refined aesthetic
  • Overhead trellises, raised pedestal paver walkways and ipe decking, granite accents, native plants

Raised planters, pot plinths and varying depths of planting beds are all in response to the limited depth atop the structure. They also serve to provide vertical definition and scale to the overall terrace space, creating a feeling of smaller, more intimate rooms.

The terraces enjoy resplendent vistas to a variety of urban structures with distinguished architectural character, including the Ritz Carlton in the distance. The sophisticated treatments for these terraces reflect the continuously escalating view shed premiums becoming more prevalent throughout the Uptown district.
